Words from CEO

Recently, Korean companies, fueled by a constant development of technologies, are taking a global lead in the filed of semiconductors, displays, mobiles, and so on. Further, influenced by enforcement of the PCT Minimum Documentation (effective from the year 2007) and addition of the Korean language as an official Language of Publication for the Patent Cooperation Treaty (effective from the year 2009), Korean put much weight on its patent information, for which the demand is tending to spread. Due to such enforcements, the foreign companies have been asking for services of Korean-English, Korean-Japanese translation for Korean Patent Information for the last several years.

Accordingly, the Korean Intellectual Patent Office (KIPO) admits the need of such translation services for foreign Patent Offices to build up the foundation of protection for Korean technologies in other countries. The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) initiated services called "K-PION" for use of Patent examiners in other countries. Currently, through K-PION, more than 22 foreign patent offices are searching a Korean patent as a prior art, which broadened the range of protection for Korean technologies outstandingly. Our company's "PIE Korean-English translation engine" is included in the K-PION. Our Company’s "PIE Korean-English translation engine" is included in K2E-PAT provided by the Korea Institute of Patent Information (KIPI). KIPI provides both a searching service for a patent without a fee and translations service for a patent with a fee.

We were transferred a technology for a Korean-English, English-Korean engine for a patent by ETRI and introduced a Japanese-Korean, Korean-Japanese translation engine as well. We then continued to study and research for development of the transferred technology and introduced Japanese-Korean, Korean-Japanese translation engines into more qualified services, using our technology. Our continuous efforts resulted in the launching of our service called "PIE" (Patent Information Everywhere). We make sure that through "PIE,” we will provide you with a more client friendly service than you've ever used. Please feel free to use "PIE" for searching and translation of a patent for main countries.

We will devote all efforts to activities such as an annual addition of a new dictionary, addition of sentence patterns, and improvement of algorithms and so on, for enhancement of the quality of a machine translation. We make certain that our service "PIE" will greatly help your company develop technology.
